Today, we're meeting Catherine Wilson. She is the owner of Essential Derma which is one of Australia's best when it comes to microneedling home devices.
Let's find out who Catherine is and how she got started in the beauty industry.
My name is Catherine Wilson and I'm the owner of the online skincare store Essentialderma.com.
We sell a range of microneedling home devices and skincare serums to help people with things such as anti-ageing, acne scars, stretch marks and hair growth.
I've always been someone obsessed with skincare and beauty, although I didn't think I'd start my own business.
Hyaluronic Acid Serum! I think it does wonders for the skin and it's suitable for almost everyone.
I can't remember a day I didn't apply it multiple times.
Microneedling (skin needling).
I honestly think this treatment is amazing, it's like a natural way of forcing your body to produce more collagen which means over time your skin is turning over faster and you get the soft babyface feel.
That more is better!
I find that the more you do to your skin, the less results you get.
Depending on the type of treatment, you really need a decent amount of rest period so that your skin can recover and come back more healthy than ever.
My routine is honestly quite basic which surprises some people.
This is a list of things I do:
That's basically it.
Every now and then I'll splurge on an advanced treatment like Bio-Remodelling or a nice facial but other than that I like to keep things simple.
Bio-Remodelling is the most expensive treatment I've tried.
I do think it is worth it but it is an advanced treatment that probably isn't needed by most people unless your wallet can afford it.
I follow a lot of trends in Asia and some of the treatments they're experimenting with are showing some amazing results.
These aren't yet legal in Australia, so I'll keep them secret until they're approved by the TGA 😉
We've had customers who purchased 30ml skincare serums ask us how much they should eat each day.
We make it very clear that you should apply them to your skin, not consume them 😅
Oh wow, that's a tough one. I'm a massive overthinker so I'd be worried more about the element's effect on my skin rather than the benefits of the skincare products.
I'll go with; good 50+ sunscreen, hyaluronic acid and perhaps something like aerogard (not really skincare) for protection from insects.
